signs of spring

i took a stroll through the neighborhood this morning.  signs of spring are everywhere...like this bright green lizard settling in on our front porch.

or this turtle swimming in the pond looking for breakfast.

or this baby alligator floating by, uh, also looking for breakfast?!  yikes!!
(allow me to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the very sturdy, metal fence that served as a barrier between me and this glorious beast of nature!)

I'm glad for your fence too - I wouldn't want you to be alligator breakfast either!

I remember during a long-ago trip to FL, we were driving the Tamiami Trail and stopped for lunch at a restaurant run by the Seminoles. Outside the restaurant, near a ditch was a sign that said "Please do not feed the alligators". Now, I wonder, WHAT happened that made them need to put that sign up?!?

I love nature's signals that Spring is coming. For us is the beautiful iridescent blue skinks that dart across our deck.

ave a wonderful day.

I feel warmer looking at your photos! But I do get a shiver thinking about the alligators.

WOW, Lori! What a great shot! You should have come over and takes a picture of my now yellow-ish porch covered in pollen that's suppose to be red!

I just wanted to let you know that I chose you to receive the Passion for Painting award on my blog! Your book and stamps and lettering are so beautiful that even if they are not a "painting" they are beautimous works of art!!
